Weight Loss Journey Vlog 5

Finally I reached my two stone weight loss target! 

Watch the video below for a full update of my weight loss journey so far!  I hope you find inspiration for your own journey or inspiration to start because I didn’t even think I’d loose a few lbs never mind two stone!  It’s amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it.

Weight & Diet Update

It felt amazing to finally reach my two stone goal!  It was a big goal for me and I still can’t quite believe I have come this far.  I worked really hard at my exercising and improving my eating habits.  I’m not vegan or vegetarian but I eat loads of plant based meals and I believe this contributed to my weight loss and general improvements of my health.  I have however gained 2/3lbs since this video due to my over consumption of stodgy comforting foods.  I blame the cold weather but I am back on track tomorrow so hopefully that will shift!  hee hee!

I’m not bothered I feel happy with who I am and will continue working towards the next goal 😉

Journaling

I have been journaling to help with my anxiety, this helps me focus on my direction, goals, to do list and change my negative patterns of thinking and just generally improves my mental well being.  I quite often struggle with my thoughts and negative thinking and this has helped me to address these issues and change them around for the better.  I’m not perfect but a work in progress!

Workout Routine

I have changed my routine a little bit from doing step aerobics everyday.  I ended up with a bit of a sore knee and realised I needed to vary it a little to avoid injury.  So because of this I have included some strength training and yoga in every second day.  This has helped with my strength throughout my cardio sessions and I’m happy with how it is working for me.

So before my workout I have a pre-workout shot made with the Motion Fitness Superfood Powder .  I have found it to be a powerful blend and it has helped give me a boost especially throughout my cardio sessions.  So I like to have this 30 minutes before my workout to give it time to absorb and do its magic!  I use my smoothie builder to make a healthy repair smoothie for myself.  This helps me to repair my body and top up my energy stores after my workout.  I love using my Smoothie Builder to make up my repair smoothie.  Sometimes I make smoothies which are not based on this format but this is pretty standard for me.

Smoothie Builder

I have shared my ‘Smoothie Builder’ sheet in this video, of which you can find below.  It details the categories of foods I add to my smoothies and you may find it helpful for your own smoothie combinations.  In the video I mentioned a variety of super foods that I included in my smoothies from time to time.  I have detailed where you can buy those below.  Remember that the name Superfoods is just a marketing term and they are just foods which are nutritionally potent in various ways and turned into pills or powders (some are also fresh).

If you want to learn more or do your own Super food research then I would recommend checking out David Wolfe and some of his training courses.  There are also a good selection of training courses on Mind Body Green they are definitely worth checking out and are affordable.  Patrick Holfords selection of Nutrition books are also worth a read.  They are packed with the latest health and nutrition research.

Weight Loss Vlog 4

Hey Everyone!

Well what can I say, it was a crap month for weight loss, I blame the school summer holidays and the kids dragging me to places like pizza hut and Frankie and Bennys all summer lol!  🙂  We had great intentions of creating wonderfully healthy picnics to take everywhere but lets face it when you’ve got three kids, a messy house and an unorganised brain who has time to make such things so it resulted in a lot of eating out during our day trips!

I don’t mind, they are only young once and every second is to be enjoyed with them before they grow into big smelly adults lol!  So this weight loss vlog details all of my latest struggles and wins and I’ve been shopping to Primark because I’ve still lost enough weight to drop a few dress sizes up top so I am happy with that 😉

Broad Bean Soup

Just what I needed today after a cold walk with the dogs and collecting leaves with my son for some leaf identification work we were doing.  Such a warming recipe, I served it up with a little drizzle of hemp oil but you could also use olive oil and perhaps some croutons.    mmmm!

Ingredients

3-4 cups of broad beans (frozen or fresh)

1 leek (chopped)

1 onion (chopped)

3 cloves of garlic (chopped)

1-2 red chillies (chopped)

2 tsp of cumin

1 tsp of tumeric

1 tsp of paprika

oat cream, or other dairy free cream ( a dash during blending, optional)

Green Smoothie Bowl

Add all the ingredients apart from the optional cream to the soup pot along with the stock cube and water to just over the vegetables.  Cook for 40-50 mins or until vegetables are tender and blend in the blender (be very careful when blending hot liquids, make sure the blender has the lid on securely) add in the cream of choice if you like to your desired consistency.  Serve with warm wholemeal bread or perhaps a toasted sandwich.

Weight Loss Vlog 3

So I’m back from my holidays with a sun tan and a 4lb weight gain ha ha ha!

Actually I’m not that bothered about it really as I know it will come off once I start eating a nutritious diet again.  If your going on holiday this year, don’t count calories, perhaps take your running shoes or do some walking but don’t worry about your weight and any possible gain!

Life is way too short not to enjoy yourself now and again!

My next weight loss vlog after this one will be when I hit my 2stone target!  I’m going to be filming some new videos over the next few weeks on a variety of lifestyle and foodie subjects!
