The kitchen is filled with the warming smells of the broth pot, bread is rising on top of the oven and there are bowls of foraged and garden picked foods waiting to be preserved or cooked on the worktops. The bairns big and small are being fed in all directions, ferments are brewing and bubbling and recipe books old and new lie open across the kitchen table.
