About Me

I am a mother of four and passionate about feeding them healthy wholesome food. We live in a remote beautiful area in the North East of Scotland surrounded by sheep, crops, cows and wild pheasants!

My main interests are cooking, gardening and developing new recipes. I am particularly interested in eating in tune with the seasons and creating recipes to work closely with whats available locally and futher afield. I love cooking with wholesome natural ingredients and am passionate about sharing Scottish food & culture with the UK and beyond.

My kids think I’m conjuring all sorts of potions up around the house with my crazy ferments lying around on all the worktop space. I have sourdough bubbling away, kefir water, kefir milk and some wild foraged blackberry oxymels soaking away at the back of the kitchen. There’s always something interest to be found and I love to be inspired by whats in season.

I love natural remedies and traditional living and am especially busy in the late Summer and Autumn months foraging, making syrups and other traditional remedies from the garden and surrounding countryside.

I also love to grow my own organic vegetables and spend a lot of time in the garden preparing and growing. We keep hens for eggs and they forage in the wilder parts of our garden and produce the most golden of yolks!

I am a creative at heart and have found my passion in traditional living and in particular Traditional Scottish Food and Culture. I really look forward to sharing that passion with you all and hope to inspire you to create your own piece of Scotland in your kitchen at home!
