We absolutely love Christmas and it is by far our favourite time of year! Growing up I remember so many delicious Christmas foods being served when we had guests over or when visiting family. I love a good cheese board with a selection of Scottish cheeses and homemade oatcakes or a nibble buffet with mini sausages, pickled onions and all the retro classics. When it comes to Christmas food the Scots have so much to share. Here are a selection of Traditional Scottish Christmas Recipes, recipes for retro classics that remind me of my childhood and some Scandinavian inspired Christmas recipes. If your reading this at Christmas time I wish and hope you have a lovely Christmas and are inspired by some of these recipes to get busy in the kitchen.

Scottish Christmas & Hogmany Recipes
This delicious pear, mincemeat and caramel tart is really lovely served with the Scottish real dairy traditional Ice cream from Mackie’s of Scotland. It works so well with the caramel sauce and the tart is so sparkly with all of the sprinkled glitter. Its the perfect dessert around the Christmas and Hogmany period.
This Christmas Plum Pudding is light in colour and texture compared to the heavier versions available and it works perfectly as a boozey pudding or as an adorable Christmas pudding with icing and holly.
I have shared a few recipes over the years for making Traditional Scotch broth but this recipe has to be one of my absolute favourites. It was inspired by some of the older Traditional Scottish recipes for barley broth.
This delicious recipe is in collaboration with Mackies of Scotland to create this Christmas Orange Chocolate Brownie with Mackies Orange chocolate and their well known Traditional Ice cream. It’s the perfect recipe for Christmas day!
This Scottish yule bannock is halfway between a traditional yule bannock and a modern day shortbread. The flavours are perfect around Christmas with cinnamon, allspice, mixed peel and cherries and the beremeal adds a nutritious traditional element.
This delicious Scottish smoked salmon salad makes a beautiful starter on Christmas day with its silky smooth smokey slices, crispy red onions and apples, chives and bright red sweet beetroot & horseradish dressing with a shimmer of gold dust.
We have always enjoyed Scotch broth, Christmas Turkey and all the trimmings for Christmas dinner and just when you thought it couldn’t get any better Granny pulls out her traditional Scottish trifle from the fridge! Delicious!
My mum made the most delicious but simple Christmas truffles around Christmas time and I’ve created this recipe to try and recreate those truffles she made us as kids. They are so delicious and make a lovely gift too! 🙂
These traditional Scottish Christmas mince pies are so easy to make and they are so delicious homemade! Me and the kids love the iced mince pies they are such a delicious treat with a hot chocolate by the fire.
We all squeeze in a slice of Christmas cake on Christmas day…well in all honestly its more like a cube of Christmas cake as there’s not much room for anything after a three course Christmas day dinner. We love this creamy traditional Scottish smoked salmon pate. It works really well with pasta, oatcakes, toasted sourdough and you can even make a delicious smoked salmon and prawn terrine with this recipe. My favourite has to be traditional Scottish smoked salmon pate on my home made Scottish oatcakes.
